At an anti-aging conference, entitled "Diet and Optimum Health," sponsored by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University one of the key nutrients discussed was alpha lipoic acid (ALA). In animal and human studies, this compound has established that is will slow the aging process, improve blood flow, enhance immune function and promote healthy blood sugar and many other functions. Dr. Tory Hagen, a researcher at Linus Pauling Institute, noted, "the evidence suggests that lipoic acid is actually a low-level stressor that turns on the basic cellular defenses of the body, including many of those that naturally decline with age." He further added, "In particular, it tends to restore levels of glutathione, a protective antioxidant and detoxification compound to those of a young animal.

We have found that this combination clobbered viruses with a barrage of synergistic phytochemicals, and no virus could resist its effects. A combination of twelve proven anti-viral herbs like cat's claw, olive leaf, astragalus, garlic and lemon balm. The taste of the Fitura Power Immune product is Intense, complex and slightly bitter which is fine since it's doing it's work! Fitura PowerÂimmune is no sweet candy, and if you have seen the ingredients you understand why. Just imagine mixing garlic, onion, ginger and other bitter-tasting herbs, it is a spicy mix. There's a lot going on in there, with the herbal ingredients acting in synergy. It's not nearly as intense as, say, John Barron's super garlic tincture from Baseline Nutritionals, but that's okay since not everybody can handle that level of herbal intensity.

Enlargement of the prostate is very common in older men but it’s not inevitable. A 2007 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded that the risk of developing this condition, called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), can be reduced by eating a diet rich in vegetables. Researchers from Johns Hopkins looked at 32,000 men they’d been following since 1986 and found that the men who ate the most vegetables were less likely to have BPH symptoms or surgery. Unfortunately, fruit had no effect but don't neglect it please! In addition to diet, saw palmetto and pygeum remain first-line therapies for BPH. Both of these botanical extracts have a strong track record in cutting down on nighttime urination, hesitancy, and other urinary symptoms. Some studies even suggest that they protect against or slow the growth of prostate cancer. Guys, if you improve your diet, start taking saw palmetto and pygeum supplements in your late 40s, and you just may be able to sidestep this very common affliction of aging.

Tea Drinkers Lose Weight. Yes we have known for a while that green tea is effective in weight control, both in the drinking and/or green tea supplements. Now something new! Researchers have found that simply drinking a glass of tea with a meal increases the amount of fat excreted in bowel movements and reduces the absorption of cholesterol through the digestive tract. The 12 subjects in one study were divided into two groups. The first group received about 24 ounces of oolong tea with each of three meals a day, then 19 grams of fat twice a day, about half an hour after lunch and dinner. The second group received a placebo drink instead of the tea, but still ate the fat. Each group continued on this regimen for ten days, then after a seven-day washout period the two groups were reversed.

When the impotence drug Viagra (sildenafil)was introduced in 1998, doctors developed writers cramp from filling out prescriptions. The scientists who discovered sildenafil citrate were not looking for a treatment for erectile dysfunction at all, but rather a drug to treat hypertension and angina. While the treatment had little effect on these ailments, it did produce pronounced erections. It appears to work by releasing nitric oxide in the penis, which leads to muscle relaxation and increased inflow of blood. In spite of rumors, there is no clinical evidence that it improves sexual performance in men who are not experiencing regular erectile dysfunction.
Today Viagra and or Revatio and other sildenafil generically name brands is taken every three seconds worldwide. More than 10 million men (including some who have had prostate surgery) are grateful to the little blue pills for reinvigorating their sex lives.
